From Milan to Venice by car: a road trip, with stops at Milan, San Pellegrino, Como, Lecco, Bergamo, Brescia, Verona, Vicenza, Padua and Venice Italy; The Best in a 3 Weeks

I have been traveling globally on business and pleasure for over 30 years, with millions of air miles, multitude of hotel nights and a cornucopia of meals and drinks that can be simply characterized as a mosaic of tantalizing knowledge, flavors, colors, and textures.
It was, and still is, a great experience, one that I want to share with you.
The uniqueness is not only to be able to travel and conduct business in a variety of places, but it’s the framework within which this occurs. The many cultures, food, drink, local traditions and a variety of individuals came together as new discoveries that I have experienced in due course.
These remain in one’s memory for years to come. They become a synonym and the signature of the place and another data point in our life database of experiences.
On several occasions I found myself eager to share what I have discovered and found pleasing with others, fellow travelers, friends, and family, especially with those who spend weekends away from their home, in a different city and yearn to experience the heart and soul of that new place, yet in a limited time frame, usually over a weekend or sometimes longer.
I believe that a traveler must embrace the local culture and discover the magic of the local and not just visit a place but experience it and make memories rather than just a trip.
As such, and unlike several of other commercial travel books that focus only on what to see, I have summarized the local foods, dishes to sample, drinks for replenishment and where to enjoy them, as well as the highlights of that to see and do because this knowledge is what will create local involvement and life-long enjoyment.
This book is for you fellow travelers. I have included web sites, street addresses and telephone numbers in my suggestions for your easy reach.
This book is not meant to be a comprehensive traveler’s guide, nor is it a one size and flavor for all or a universal critic of the place in question but a lighthearted expression of one experience in one place, over one weekend, to be shared with others.
Enjoy!

Pedestrians, Urban Spaces and Health: Proceedings of the XXIV International Conference on Living and Walking in Cities (LWC, September 12-13, 2019, Brescia, Italy)

Pedestrians, Urban Spaces and Health: Proceedings of the XXIV International Conference on Living and Walking in Cities (LWC, September 12-13, 2019, Brescia, Italy)

Today, citizens advocate greater environmental sustainability, better services and the improvement of urban quality by promoting safer mobility and health. Addressing these issues, Pedestrians, Urban spaces and Health contains the papers presented at the XXIV International Conference “Living and Walking in Cities” (Brescia, Italy, 12-13 September 2019). The contributions discuss town planning issues, look at best practices and research findings across the broad spectrum of urban and transport planning, with particular attention to the safety of pedestrians in the city. The main topics of the book are:

Walking experiences

Urban spaces and Redevelopment

Healthy cities (as Urban resilience and for Weakest users)

Pedestrians, Urban spaces and Health is a powerful plea for a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive approach to urban mobility and planning, and will be of interest to academics, consultants and practitioners interested in these areas.
